Paula Slater

Biography

Paula Slater majored in fine art at California State University, Fullerton where she received her B.A. She went on to receive her master’s degree at John F. Kennedy University, Pleasant Hill, California.

Slater’s fine sculptures have been featured in Sculpture Journey, Art & Antiques Magazine, Garden Design Magazine, Art Business News and Art World News. She has created designs for the Walt Disney Galleries, Disney Dimensions, United Design, NASCAR, Harley-Davidson and the Baker Arts Foundry among others.

Slater had designed detailed models for the 1998 feature film Lost In Space, and the following year, she received a major commission for the Atlantis Luxury Hotel & Casino Resort at Paradise Island, the Bahamas. Her sea-life relief sculptures were cast in bronze as 20 feet tall, 1 foot-thick doors for the entrance to the resort.

Other notable commissions have included the Desert Dreams Construction company, Senator Alan Cranston (which will be displayed in the State Capitol Building in Sacramento, California), and George Bergeron, former chairman of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
